Mission Statement

The Clan Campbell Society (North America)

Mission Statement
The Clan Campbell Society (North America) is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to explore, document, and preserve the history and heritage of the Scottish Highlands and the Clan Campbell diaspora. We aim to educate the general public, support scientific research into population genetics, and maintain historical archives to ensure the preservation of Scottish cultural traditions for this and future generations.

Long-Term Goals
  1. Historical Preservation: We will explore, document, and preserve the history and traditions of Clan Campbell and the Scottish Highlands to contribute to the global historical record.
  2. Public Outreach: We will foster an interest in Scottish heritage among descendants and the general public, providing educational resources that highlight the cultural impact of the Scottish diaspora.
  3. Educational Dissemination: We will share our research through the "Journal of the Clan Campbell Society (North America)," our website, and social media, ensuring that our historical findings are accessible to the public.
  4. Scientific & Genealogical Research: We will support scholarly genealogical research and scientific DNA studies to advance public knowledge of migration patterns, genetics, and heritage.
  5. Cultural Education: We will promote the preservation of traditional Scottish arts—including athletics, dance, and music—through educational demonstrations, workshops, and public outreach at highland games and gatherings.
  6. Heraldic Study: We will encourage the scholarly study of heraldry and iconography as essential components of Scottish historical identity.
  7. Collaborative Advocacy: We will support and collaborate with other 501(c)(3) organizations and groups, such as the Council of Scottish Clans and Associations, to further the preservation of Scottish heritage.
  8. Fiscal Stewardship: We will maintain fiscal responsibility and expand our donor base to provide long-term sustainability for our charitable and educational programs.

If these goals for the preservation of our shared history appeal to you, we invite you to support our mission. By participating in the Clan Campbell Society (North America), attending our educational outreach at Highland games, and utilizing our research resources, you help ensure that the heritage and traditions of the Scottish Highlands are preserved for all future generations. We welcome your involvement in our efforts to document and celebrate this enduring legacy.
